DuWop Lip Venom was one of the first if not the first lip plumping glosses on the market for consumer use. This product promises to give you tingly shinier lips that will give you a bee stung look. But, does this product deliver on its promises?
About the Product
DuWop Lip Venom uses a mixture of essential oils to increase circulation to the lips and to provide for more color and an incredible shine. Some of the ingredients this product contains are essential oils from cinnamon and ginger, wintergreen, Jojaba and advocado oils.
The lip gloss plumper itself comes in an incredible small container that holds 0.12 ounces of the lip gloss and sells for between $15.00 and $20.00 with the medium price being around $16.00. While this seems like a steep price for so little product keep in mind that it is much cheaper than having collagen injections.
How Does The Product Work?
The theory behind DuWop Lip Venom is that by using ingredients like cinnamon and ginger which are known to increase circulation, on your lips that you will increase the blood flow to your lips making them look plumper and somewhat darker. The tingly feeling most people get is due to the strength of the cinnamon and ginger essential oils that does seem to bring blood to lips of most people who have tried this product. However, the increased circulation is temporary and the plumpness wears off as soon as the gloss wears off which is quicker in some people than others.
Does It Work?
According to most reviews DuWop does deliver on at least some of its promises. While reviews are mixed as to whether or not this product actually plumps lips and if so for how long, it does seem to hydrate and make lips shine as promised. There are plenty of customer reviews for this product and the ratings for Duwop runs from 3 ½ stars to 4 stars indicating that this is a better than average though not great product.
Pros And Cons
Here is a look at the pros and cons that actual users noticed when using Duwop lip venom.
- Nice look lasting shine
- No sticky residue like with many lip gloss products
- hydrates your lips
- nice smell and taste
- It does slightly plump the lips of some users.
The reviews offered by the official website actually seem like honest reviews and not just sales pitches for the product.
- Not much plumping effect and what you do get doesn’t last long
- expensive for the amount you get
- really burns some people’s lips instead of just tingling
- If you kiss someone right after applying you transfer the stinging sensation to the person you kiss.
While there are many people who do indeed love this product it is due to the shiny look and the nice smell and taste rather than because it actually provides plumper lips. While there is nothing wrong with paying $15.00 or more for a hydrating lip gloss that makes your lips look shiny and that you really like, people who have thin lips that are hoping for a plumper look to their lips will probably be disappointed with this product. If you truly want plumber lips then this is not the product for you.
